Another March Madness Giveaway!!

I am soo excited to post ANOTHER giveaway for you, my wonderful readers.
(A BIG welcome to all the NEW readers from GenXQuilters!)

I am especially excited to share this giveaway with you. Michelle Webster, the BRAINS behind Keyka Lou patterns has generously offered to give TWO of her FABULOUS PDF patterns away! She has an AMAZING blog where she posts great tips and beautiful pictures of great fabrics. Michelle and I have been friends/business associates for a long time and her patterns are so great for a beginner to intermediate sewist(a) that I use the reusable tote pattern AND the laptop sleeve pattern in my classes! I am just so thrilled that now I can be an affiliate and the added bonus for doing what I would already do anyway is a little commission every time you buy something using the link from my blog!!

So, if you'd like to WIN WIN two of her FABULOUS and EASY-to-follow patterns, here is whatcha gotta do:

1) Visit the Keyka Lou Shop and pick out your TWO favorite patterns (I know this will be difficult, but do try) then come back here and leave a comment telling me which ones you want.

2) Visit my shop and tell me which FABRICS you would use to make those beautiful patterns

3) And for an added little bonus, why not stop by Michelle's blog and just drop her a little "hi!" comment, you can tell her that Crafty Girls Workshop sent you, or not, I think she'll get a pleasant surprise out of that.

Of course, be sure to leave at least one comment telling me you did the above items (you can leave one for each or one telling me what you did.)

MAKE SURE you are NOT a No Reply Blogger!! If I can't reply to your comment, and you DON"T leave me your e-mail in your comment, then you CAN NOT win this giveaway! And that's not any fun, right?
One more thing, all the Keyka Lou patterns are PDF so this is open to ANYONE ANYWHERE!! Yippee! Save trees and include international folks. I love it when things work out like that.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday, March 29th!!

Happy Stitches,

Anna

I Dream in Color

I was inspired on Wednesday to start on this quilt. I finished quilting it today, it's about 18"x22" and I had so much fun making it! I think I'm going to stretch it over a canvas and hang it on the wall. I want people to be able to touch it because the quilting caused the neatest texture. I also absolutely LOVE the STAR threads I had to play with. They are varigated and just absolutely a dream to quilt with. I might have to do a different quilt just in the blues because I love those colors so much.

I don't think this picture even does it justice. (Sorry, still trying to figure out the Macro setting without actually reading any tutorials about it.)

In other news, did you see the new link on the sidebar under my sponsors!? It's Michelle Webster's pattern company called Keyka Lou. I'm now an affiliate which is totally AWESOME because I LOVE her patterns. I've used the Easy Eco Market tote in a class a couple of times already and it's incredibly easy and fun to make! Her instructions are SO easy and her PDF patterns actually have links to specific posts on her blog with more details! How awesome is THAT!? Here's an eco tote I made just recently.

So I highly encourage you to stop by her site, but please do so by clicking the link in my sidebar. Oh, and that fabric in that picture above? It's ON SALE in my shop! Well, it's been a busy and productive week and weekend for me. How about you all, working on anything exciting?

Voile by Anna Maria Horner and Valori Wells

                                                              Meadow Baby Bouquet

                                                                Sweet Baby Bouquet

                                                               Nest Leaves Turquoise

These pretty 54" wide cotton voiles have arrived! We have at least 15 yards of each and they are sooo beautiful! The two on the left are from Anna Maria Horner's Little Folks lines and the beauty on the right is from NEST by Valori Wells. Both of these designers have hit a home run with their cotton designs and having the voile option is a special bonus! These are absolutely perfect for making into some nice cool tops for the HOT Texas summers we have here. I'm sure they'd be great for skirts and other lovely projects. I love how Michelle Webster from Keyka Lou describes them as a more affordable version of the Liberty of London fabrics! Thanks for the shout out today about our Girly Girl Fabric too Michelle! More to come soon! (By the way, you can click on the link below the pictures to go STRAIGHT to our website to purchase the fabrics. Don't forget that if you have that 10% coupon from the June newsletter you can still use it until June 30!)

Yes, she DOES sew

And yes, she IS obsessed with red and aqua! Look at these adorable pincushion cuffs I made today! I made one for myself and decided they were sew easy that I'd make another one for Regina at the same time! I used the Lil Plane Jane Aqua and Red and White Dot from Michael Miller. They were SUPER DUPER easy to make and so fun and fast! I dug around in some buttons I inherited from my grandmother and found a really cool white pearly one and one that had a little flower crocheted in the center. Can you see it in this picture?

The neatest trick I learned while making these was to add an old cut up credit card behind the pincushion part, on the wrist band to protect my arm from stray pins! Neat idea! Thanks KeykaLou Patterns for this great tutorial! It feels so good to have actually fininshed something from start to finish today. Yesterday I managed to get most of a quilt top finished too. I just need to grab some more fabric to finish the outside border, backing and binding, of course. I call it the Love U Charm Quilt because I used 1 Love U Charm pack and 1 yard of Bella Solid Mint for the sashing.

I think this will be a great blanket for a little boy (or girl), the fabrics are so fun and cute! I can't wait to go to Regina's tomorrow to get the rest of the fabric. That's the update for now. We have some yardage of Martinique coming in soon and Make Life from Sweetwater, which is going to be super adorable for those of you who enjoy scrapbooking.

Happy Stitches to You!
