More Stash Fabric Listed in Shop and FREE Pattern!

Yes, it's true, we have listed A LOT more fabric in our shop. And what sorts of cute goodies could they be? Well, we have some gently used books that are instructional for various techniques such as Applique and Crazy Quilting. We also have some smaller 1/2 yard cut bundles of the Sweet fabric by Urban Chiks for Moda fabrics. That fabric is soo adorable. See?

Sweet by Urban Chiks

We just listed some Snippets by American Jane. Turns out Regina had been hiding this and decided that it was time to let it go. We've cut it into 1/4 yard cut bundles, and kept the price around $15. These are not fat quarters, but they are 9 inches wide and approximately 42 inches long. This gives you a nice amount of fabric for a great deal! Here are just a few of the fabrics. To see the rest you'll have to stop by Crafty Girls Workshop for yourself. :-)

We have 1/2 yard and 1/4 yard cut bundles.

Now, here is the most exiciting part, I think at least. Have you been to the Moda Bakeshop recently? It turns out that the pattern they just posted yesterday is for making an ADORABLE little tote/gift bag using, what else? Snippets! It calls for four fat quarters (18"x22") and even though our cuts aren't fat they are still a usable size for the pattern on the Bakeshop. Believe me, I checked! So I figured this must be fate. Moda offers a FREE pattern for making a totally cute little bag using the exact same fabric we are listing! So hop over to the bakeshop and get the pattern, then stop by our shop and get the fabric. You'll be able to start making your tote bags in enough time to give all your Christmas gifts in them.

Finally, there is still a week to enter the drawing for the Christmas fabric giveaway. It's only a couple posts back and I think you still have a good chance of winning if you enter now and tell your friends. Remember you get an extra entry if you tell them about it.

Gotta get to stitchin,

Get Them While You Can!

Look at this cute buggy pillowcase. It's perfect for a future biologist who is interested in bugs and creepy crawly things. The screamin' pink ric rack adds the perfect finishing touch.

Hurry! Some of the first items we listed back in March are going to become inactive in just a few days! Once they are inactive, we don't plan to relist them because we have such great stuff coming in the future, so this is your chance to get some great deals on pillowcases (home sewn) and pillowcase kits! Remember, these are great for last minute birthday or Christmas gifts. We used all 100% cotton fabrics from our local quilt shops. So check out Crafty Girls Workshop to get some great deals! Look for the Home Sewn or Kits categories to the right of our shop page. Those links will take you directly to the items mentioned here.

Look at this adorable western theme pillowcase! Wouldn't this go great with a Pecos Bill book?

This dino friendly pillowcase is a kit, but all the pieces are already cut to size with a rotary cutter. It would probably only take you about an hour (at most) to finish this one up. Tie it up in a coordinating ribbon and add a little card and it would make a perfect stocking stuffer.

We also have some brand new patterns in our shop! We bought these with you all in mind because they are made to be used with pre-cut fabrics, jelly rolls, charm packs, layer cakes and fat quarters. Save yourself some time and buy your fabric already cut. Then add any of these easy patterns and in no time you'll have a beautiful, fast quilt to be proud of.
We have more to show but I'll save that for later. You can always stop by and see it for yourself.
Don't forget to sign up for the drawing to win a half yard of Christmas fabric!
Happy Stitches to You,
Anna and Regina

Destash Giveaway

Hi All!

Well, I'm only a day late, sorry about that. I got distracted with getting some more items scanned for the shop. In honor of my dad's 63rd birthday, and in honor of our Destash Sale and Christmas in July (lots of reasons to celebrate I suppose) we will be giving away the following:

We have 1/2 yard of this beautiful green holly fabric from the Merry and Bright line by Sandy Gervais for Moda fabrics. I think this giveaway should run until the end of July, so on Friday, July 31, I will draw a name from the entries. This fabric coordinates very well with a lot of other fabrics in our shop. :-)

Here's how to enter, please leave a comment and tell us about your favorite fabric. You can tell us the designer you love, such as Amy Butler, or if you love everything 30's, or anything by Moda. It's up to you. Don't forget to leave me your e-mail address or at least the address of your blog so I can get in touch with you if you win the drawing! Oh, and of course I'll give you an additional entry if you blog about this giveaway, send anyone over here from your blog, and/or become a follower. I am looking forward to finding out more about all of you.

I'll go first:

I'm Anna and I love Amy Butler, Heather Bailey, anything by Chez Moi (so far) and I do like some soft florals by 3 Sisters. I am also falling in love with 30s such as the Snippets line and I really like the Sweet line. Wow, I guess it's hard to pick a favorite.

Regina (the other Crafty Girl) really likes 30s and the Sweet line and soft florals such as anything by 3 Sisters or Joanna Figueroa (Fig Tree Quilts).

In this way, I think our tastes compliment each other, I like bright and funky, she likes soft floral and 30s but we're expanding our horizons and keeping an open mind.

Alright, enough about us, tell us about you! Happy posting!

Happy Stitches,
The Crafty Girls

Giveaway in Blogland

Hi Everyone,
Well, I've found another great giveaway by complete accident, I love it when that happens! I thought I'd tell you all about it, because of course, if you go and enter and tell her I sent you then we both get an extra entry! Kati Cupcake is giving away a KIT to make an AWESOME quilt with Amy Butler fabrics! Gee, those are my three favorite things!! You'll notice, perhaps, that I've created a little place in the sidebar to the right where I plan to feature any giveaways that I find in blogland. So, please check back here often, not just for Crafty Girls Workshop updates, but for new giveaways too! Oh, and check out the Moda Bake Shop, they've posted a few new patterns this week, including a nice table topper made out of charms for a disappearing nine patch! It's very cute and looks soooo easy! I wish I had more time to make some of these awesome projects. Oh, don't forget, there are over 75 new items in our shop this week! If you purchase any of the featured items, we'll send you an additional FREE surprise! The theme is Christmas in July so I've featured several of our Christmas fabrics and patterns. We have more to add soon (as soon as I can get them scanned in) so keep an eye on our shop. Now for a wonderful announcement...tomorrow I'm going to post about a Giveaway of our own! Yippee! Be sure to come back and see what we are going to give away in honor of my dad's 63rd birthday! It is definately going to be great. Hope to see you here tomorrow!

Happy Stitches,
Anna

Destash Sale

I hope you all had a fabulous July 4th weekend. I had Friday off from my full time job and was able to spend most of the day scanning in some NEW items for the shop, almost 100 new items in fact. After spending a few months madly sewing like crazy (Thanks Regina for your lovely creations) the Crafty Girls have come to a conclusion, the people who read our blog and visit our shop already know how to sew! And all you wonderful visitors probably would rather purchase fabric and patterns instead of pre-made items for gifts. SEW, that is the new direction we are taking in our shop. To start off, since we don't quite have the capital to just run out to the Moda warehouse and buy bolts of fabric (although it is very tempting, let me tell ya) we've decided to DESTASH our own fabric. Now, there are several advantages to this, first of all, Regina and I are pre-washers. Meaning we pretty much always wash any new fabric we bring home. This is an advantage for you because when you purchase fabric from us, it is a particular length AFTER being washed/pre-shrunk! I don't know about you, but I've been very frustrated lately when I have purchased fat quarters (18"x22") and gone home, washed them and then found out they were actually closer to 17"x21" after washing! If we sell a fat quarter in this destash, it's AFTER washing, so you're getting a better deal. We've also gone through our sewing and quilting patterns and found several that we've never used, and no longer need to keep around, so we want to make them available to anyone who would like to make good use of them, and the price reflects that. This is a DESTASH sale, so the prices are very good, we didn't even mark any of our fabric over $8 a yard, now that's a steal! Some of this fabric is still out on the market but difficult to find, so you might want to check us out and snatch it up while you can! Oh, and did I mention that we have several charm packs for sale? I still have a few more to get listed today, but I've posted the ones I thought would be relevant, including a couple of Christmas/Holiday packs. Remember, it's time to start thinking of making gifts for your loved ones for the holidays. Our charm packs are a steal for only $7! OK, the down side, shipping. Yes, the cost of shipping is going up and it may seem pricey to spend $4 on a pattern and have to pay $2 for shipping, but we are willing to combine shipping. We'll even set up a custom listing for you on Etsy if you want to purchase multiple patterns (and fabric, and charms). This will make it easier to get a specific cost for the shipping. With the new flat rate postage boxes, it is a little easier to figure shipping costs, but it's to your advantage to purchase multiple items so that you actually save on shipping costs. So, go take a look at the new items in our shop. We still have more to destash, these items are really only the beginning, plus we will have some BRAND new patterns to list very soon! Thanks for visiting!

P.S. Tell your friends too, the sooner we sell this stuff, the faster we can get new items ordered to offer to you all.
